Annual Events

TriCounty Health Department aims to connect directly with the community at every opportunity. Spring and summer are when you are most likely to see our staff doing outreach at events like county fairs, the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo, and other public events. These events allow staff to educate the public about important health topics, offer screenings or vaccinations, distribute safety and wellness materials, and answer questions in person. By meeting people where they are, the department can build trust, encourage healthy behaviors, and make it easier for residents to access services and programs.

Community Appreciation event

TriCounty Health held its inaugural Community Appreciation Event was on June 1, 2023. Department staff decided to host a free barbeque in appreciation of all the community does to support public health. The Community Appreciation Barbeque featured bounce houses, music, and face painting.

While the event itself changes and rotates throughout different locations each year, the sentiment is the same: TriCounty Health Department staff love their community.

Walking Challenge

Join us every summer as we walk towards 10K steps a day. The walking challenge lasts 6 weeks and includes a weekly walk together with information on health and wellness, prizes and a grand finale walk with bigger prizes for those who participated in the weekly challenges.

The challenge also aims to encourage families to walk together by offering incentives for children. Each week we hide painted prize rocks in local parks and walking trails that can be redeemed for smaller prizes perfect for kids.

We hope that you will accept our challenge and make fun memories while taking steps towards a healthy lifestyle every week this summer.
