Comfort Inn Pool Closure

Vernal, UT – TriCounty Health Department (TriCHD) has responded to an event at the Comfort Inn pool that resulted in several people being treated at area hospitals. TriCHD has closed the pool until further notice and started an investigation.

At approximately 5 p.m. TriCHD responded to the scene after learning of dispatch calls reporting that pool users were experiencing respiratory distress, nausea and vomiting. 

TriCHD believes there is no ongoing risk to the public or to hotel staff or guests.

Those who were affected were transported to area hospitals. Ashley Regional Medical Center reports that all who came in for treatment have been discharged.

More information will come as the investigation develops.
