Measles Case Count Update
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
March 5, 2026
Vernal, UT – TriCounty Health Department (TriCHD) has confirmed three additional cases of measles since March 2, 2026. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the area to five.
All individuals who tested positive for measles were exposed during the Utah High School Activities Association wrestling tournament held Feb. 13–14. None attended school while they were contagious.
TriCHD has shared guidance with local schools to help protect staff, students, and families if a measles outbreak occurs.
If you have symptoms of measles or think you were exposed, stay home. Call your doctor before going to a clinic or hospital and tell them about your symptoms so they can give you instructions and help prevent the virus from spreading.
TriCHD is continuing to investigate possible cases and will provide updates as new information becomes available.
