New Board of Health Seat
Vernal, UT – The Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation has selected a representative to join TriCounty Health Department’s Board of Health. On July 25 Emmett R. Duncan Sr. was appointed as the representative for Native American residents.
During a regular meeting in November of 2023, the board reviewed its bylaws and made the decision to add a seat for a Ute Indian Tribe member to represent the tribal nation in the local communities.
The creation of a new seat makes the board a 10 member body comprised of; one person representing the Daggett County Commission, one person representing the Duchesne County Commission, one person representing the Uintah County Commission, five persons consisting of one representative from Daggett County, two representatives from Duchesne County, two representatives from the Uintah County, one medically trained person from any representative county and one person representing Native American residents.
TriCounty Health Department is excited to have Mr. Duncan join the board in working to improve the health of all residents in the Daggett, Duchesne and Uintah Counties.
